Starting your day in a mindful state will make you feel more open-minded and a bit calmer.

Sometimes we need a little bit of mindfulness to get us through the day.

I want to bring you a nice little meditation that you can do every single morning when you get up.

It is more of a visualization technique that is easy to do and gentle for the morning.

Start with taking a couple of big deep breaths, in and out and if you have to shake your hands and move your body around if you have any excess energy or anxiety, you can do that.

Just imagine your mind is clear as you look in front of you, wherever you are, and notice three things in front of you without judgment.

Just notice the color, the shape, the size.

Now close your eyes, and just notice two things that you’re hearing.

Notice where it’s coming from, the tone, the depth.

Notice what you’re hearing from the left side.

Notice what you’re hearing from the right side.

Again, you’re just noticing. No judgment. You’re doing great.

Take a big deep breath in and exhale.

Now, with your eyes closed, just notice one sensation within your body without judgment.

Notice where it’s located, notice how it feels.

No labeling, no judging, just notice with open awareness.

When you’re ready, open your eyes. Take in a big deep breath, hold for the count of two, and exhale twice as long.

Put a smile on your face and go about your day.

This little exercise will help you to drop into mindfulness and it will take you less than a minute, and you can do this anywhere, with anything.

Do it in a crowded park, do it at work, do it at home. Definitely do this every morning.

Every time you do this, you’re opening up your awareness of what is around you. You’re becoming less judgmental, more spacious, more aware more present, and more mindful.

Remember, you have a powerful mind and it can be changed to support the life you want to live. In the meantime, enjoy your day, one minute at a time.

Hugs, Cheryl
