  1. It seems too easy so it’s usually overcomplicated. In that case, you’re getting in your head about it. Often giving up before you get started. 
  2. The second difficulty is with those who have a mindfulness practice, but it’s inconsistent. You seem to “shift” into mindfulness when it’s least expected but when you want to be mindful, you can’t seem to find it. 

In both of these scenarios, the key is to remember that mindfulness is not about being in your head. It’s the opposite. You can’t analyze your way into it. You can’t will it or demand it. 

It’s a gentle process, a “shift.”
