Mindful Hypnosis is what I do, and yes they do go together.

I was talking to someone a few weeks ago and they asked what I did. I said, which is my usual saying… I am a Certified Professional Hypnotist and Mindfulness Coach. They looked at me blinking. How do those two things go together?

Well, with a smile on my face, I said they go together like peanut butter and jelly.

It’s funny but in my previous hypnosis business, I actually had the name Mindful Living Hypnosis. That has changed to Green Leaf Hypnosis. If you want to know why I wrote a blog post about that.

Mindful hypnosis is very common.

It’s so common that most of the Instructors who teach Hypnosis, always add a mindfulness component to their teaching. And there was a reason for that which I’m going to get into.

Since you probably have an understanding of what Mindfulness is, let me explain what Hypnosis is because that is often misunderstood.

Hypnosis can be explained in a multitude of different ways depending on how many hypnotists you ask. But the main thing is that it is a way to change your habits.

It is a way to decrease your active thinking mind so that you can work with the subconscious part of the mind, which holds all your beliefs, values, worries fears habits, etc.

To make changes we have to bypass the critical thinking mind.  This is where we find ourselves sabotaging behaviors or overthinking, our delusions, not delusion, in the sense that we lose our mind but believing what we believe is true that may not be.

A few ways to bypass our critical-thinking mind

  •  When you get older and are really young, you can make these changes.
  • Stories and metaphors are natural and have been used for a long time to help people understand things.
  • Hypnosis naturally moves between these areas with ease.

I am going to read excerpts and never say that word right out of the book mindful hypnotherapy from Gary R Elkins

“mindful hypnotherapy is an intervention that intentionally uses hypnosis to integrate mindfulness for personal therapeutic benefits and mindfulness hypnotherapy we utilize hypnosis a powerful delivery vehicle for mindfulness. Hypnosis is a medium that enables

mindfulness to be absorbed and integrated more easily, efficiently and effectively.”

How mindful hypnosis can help you?

Many of the people I work with are suffering from anxiety, stress, fears, and overthinking.

Integrating mindfulness in all of the sessions helps to get out of their head, and be more present so they can feel calmer, more focused, and more relaxed.

It also helps my weight reduction clients eat more mindfully and my self-sabotaging clients..well, it really helps to put situations into perspective.

Thank you for listening today

Take a deep breath in and exhale

So, before I go, listen closely and remember this ONE thing.

Your future is a thought, your past has passed, but your now is always here.

Be mindful-one minute at a time.

Hugs, Cheryl
